Ivan and Samantha’s love story began eight years ago, and the day they decided to make it “official” was finally here! The perfect June wedding was beginning to unfold at the stunning Vassar Chapel, as guests were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the beautiful bride. Samantha and her energetic bridal party arrived and made their way out of their luxurious limo bus provided by Casanova Carriage. Bridesmaids and Groomsmen were dressed in royal blue with touches of yellow, creating a striking POP of color! However, all eyes were on Samantha as she entered the chapel. The epitome of a stunning bride, Samantha walked arm in arm down the isle with her father in a traditional ceremony, something that’s become somewhat forgotten.
After Samantha and Ivan said their “I Do’s”, off to the reception it was! Once arriving at Anthony’s Pier 9, Samantha and Ivan mingledwith their guests during their grand cocktail hour and then snuck away to have a private dance for themselves.
Their entrance was extraordinary, as they rose up from underneath the stage to “WOW” their guests! The reception was gorgeous, as bright yellow bouquets lined the couple’s table, and tall antique candelabras were centered on each table for a romantic and classy feel. Everyone had a fabulous time as they danced the night away to the sounds of Jimmy Dee Music Productions. Guests let loose with a photo booth that included silly props such as light up sunglasses, feather boas and crazy hats! Samantha and Ivan’s wedding was a fun filled evening full of family, friends and lots of laughter.
May 19th was a beautiful day. By mid-morning at the Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville, NY, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and Andrea and Michael were preparing to commit to a life together in wedded bliss in front of millions on TLC’s hit show, Four Weddings!
The ceremony was held outdoors in front of an ethereal white draped gazebo, with guests sitting in rows of simple white chairs. Each row was adorned with a delicate, flower-filled mason jar, to match the bridal bouquets by David Anthony, which created a fun yet rustic ambiance.
A family friend officiated, which made the ceremony even more special and intimate, and sweet touches such as an Irish hand-tying ceremony added a touch of flair for guests to enjoy. At the cocktail hour, the guests enjoyed two signature drinks specially created for the bride and groom, featuring Saint Germaine and Jack Daniels, the couple’s favorite drinks!
The rustic reception room fit in perfectly with the feel of the wedding. Exposed wood beams and wine barrel accents were enhanced with winery themed décor. The tables were topped with branch filled wine bottles from which warmly lit tea lights hung.
As the guests entered, they marked their fingerprints on a custom created tree picture and placed their gift in a vintage looking bird cage.
The bridal party danced into the reception in threes, two groomsmen and one bridesmaid to the music of DJ Mark. The bride and groom shared their first dance privately, taking a moment away from their guests to enjoy one another, and then danced again in front of their guests.
Michael then danced with his mother and Andrea shared a choreographed dance with her father.
The bride surprised everyone by inviting her mother onto the dance floor, a moment which showcased their special bond. After a delicious dinner of salmon, steak and chicken, roasted mixed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes by Holberts Catering, guests danced the night away.
They stopped only to indulge in delicious mini “holy cannoli” cupcakes and vanilla and white chocolate cake pops decorated as adorable brides and grooms, that were all provided by JJ’s Rockin’ Cupcakes! As the guests left, they each took home a half bottle of Brotherhood Winery wine as a gift from Andrea and Michael and were even able to grab an extra cake pop for the road!
My journey with Jenny and AJ began in December of 2011…as it turns out we are practically neighbors! Soon after we began planning their special day, my husband and I were invited to be guests as well as cater the sweets for their engagement party, where my husband John, of JJ’s Rockin Cupcakes made the debut of his Peanut Butter Explosion cupcake! That day, we really got a chance to know them both as well as their family. Spending time with them, made me even more ecstatic to be a part of their love filled day!
As their day began at the lovely le Chambord, a bit of overcast and the fear of thunderstorms loomed in the
air, however, their “by the sea” inspired décor helped make the sun come out just in time! Despite the rain making a quick appearance before the wedding began, it held off long enough for the ceremony and almost all of their receiving line afterwards! But, as they always say, rain on your wedding day is good luck!
With starfish garland hanging over the arbor and larger starfish set on the the table to hold their rings, the symbolic sand ceremony fit perfectly with the theme and united both Jenny & AJ with all of the guests, both present and those in remembrance. She even incorporated seashells into her place cards, giving her guests a little something extra to go home with!
The lovely sounds of Jimmy Lutz‘s voice and his guitar played throughout the ceremony, making their day even more
memorable and special. Jenny, looked stunning as she walked down her custom aisle runner provided by Chapel Runners with her mother and father on each side of her. Their ceremony was simply beautiful as they both incorporated so many special family members into their bridal party. Jenny had her sister as her maid of honor and her step mother as one of her brides maids. Aj even had his father as his best man!
The very personal and heartfelt ceremony designed by Reverend Jude Smith brought tears to almost every set of eyes, including The Dream Team’s! In addition to reciting their own vows, Jenny & Aj read a beautiful poem titled, “Why Marriage” by Mari Nichols to their guests.
The sea inspired theme flowed into their reception area as well. Each table was adorned with sea shells, starfish, and sea biscuits titled with beaches from around the area. Their beautiful centerpieces tied everything together with candles floating atop ocean flowers in cylinders filled with water.
Each place setting had an adorable poem and a packet that allowed all the guest to leave well wishes, words of wisdom and advice for Jenny & AJ. Afterwards, they placed their little message in a bottle for the newlyweds to read later on! The detail put into every aspect of this wedding was flawless.
As Jenny and Aj made their entrance into the reception area they danced to the lovely sounds of Billy Joel’s “Just the Way You Are.” Watching Jenny and AJ dance in each others arms you could see the happiness radiate between them and the love they shared for one another.
As the night continued, adorable candid’s were captured by Paul of Paul Jason Photography, and by Mike, of Habernig Productions. It was obvious that everyone, including AJ and Jenny loved to dance. At one point, their friends and family formed a circle on the dance floor where one guest broke out into ‘the worm’ dance move!!
Just as Jenny & AJ were getting ready to cut their cake, My assistant Caitlyn & I snuck out to decorate their bridal sweet with rose petals, candles & some sweet treats provided by JJ’s Rockin Cupcakes!
Making their wedding even more spectacular was the amazing detail put into their sand castle weddingcake! It was almost too incredible to eat! The crumbs imitating sand and the colors of the cake fit perfectly into their theme–and the cake topper was just too cute for words!
Right after Jenny & AJ to cut their cake, my assistant Caitlyn & I snuck out to decorate their bridal sweet with rose petals, candles & some sweet treats provided by JJ’s Rockin Cupcakes!
Seeing the joy they shared on their special day made the perfect ending to a wonderful experience! The Dream Team at Cinderella4aday could not be happier for Jenny & Aj. We wish them a lifetime of happy memories and beautiful experiences.
When Dana first contacted me I was excited to hear that she lived in California and we would be helping her plan their wedding from 3,000 miles away! Dana, like myself, is originally from Brooklyn, NY. As soon as we started chatting away, we instantly clicked. Even though her heart was in California, her wedding was in New York, where I was able to transport her ideas across the country and materialize them all the way to Bear Mountain!
On May 19th Dana and David tied the knot at The Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain. Their wedding took place on the most beautiful day of the year thus far! The Dream Team arrived early to put the finishing touches on everything, check in with Dana, and ensure that every aspect of the wedding would go perfectly for the couple’s special day.
Dana and David shared this beautiful moment with friends and family as they stood under a Huppah made from Dana’s grandmother’s linens. This personal touch made the exchanging of their vows even more special. The couple also incorporated a pouring of wine ceremony into their nuptials; David then crushed the glass underfoot, something that is done in many Jewish weddings. The gorgeous ceremony was tied together with a combination of simple yet elegant flowers,
provided by Cheshire Tree Floral Design. Bright sunflowers, vibrant lilies, and delicate peonies filled mason jars that hung from white chairs and lined the aisle—the perfect touch for their woodsy location!
Originally Dana wanted a barn wedding, which is why they incorporated a barn mailbox as their money box, and in lieu of a favor they made a donation to Yosemite Conservancy.
While Dana and David took pictures outdoors with their bridal party, their guests mingled inside enjoying the cocktail hour. Brian Ried, of Cynthia Del Conte Photography was amazing and captured every glimpse that Dana and David shared throughout their day. As the cocktail hour came to an end, the guests gazed at the rustic seating chart made from an old white window pane to find their seats.
To tie the woodsy elegance into the reception area, each table was adorned with
navy blue tablecloths and highlighted with teal napkins. Patches of moss sat underneath bouquets of flowers in mason jars. Fresh fruits and vegetables placed around each centerpiece completed the earthy feel.
Dana surprised her new hubby and all of their guests by pairing up with her brother, as they sang “If I Needed You,” by Don Williams, which was of course dedicated to David! Her singing was beautifully heartfelt and romantic, making tears swell up in almost every guest’s eyes.
As the night continued, the traditional wedding activities took place, however, the groom changed it up a bit. Instead of randomly tossing the bouquet and garter, our lovely couple seemed to have planned ahead of time who the lucky recipients were going to be! Rather than tossing the garter over his head, letting any one of the single men catch it, David spun around and quickly chucked the garter to the deserving man, giving all of his guests a little giggle!
As Dana and David realized their special night was coming to an end, they quickly headed to the dance floor and busted a move to the fantastic tunes provided by Jimmy Lutz of Lutz Entertainment.
This wedding was perfect in more ways than one…with a beautiful location, great weather, and an awesome team of professionals–Cinderella4aday and the Dream Team could not have been more happy to be apart of this lovely couple’s special day! Congrats again to David and Dana!!
*Note: In case you were wondering why there are no photo credits, its because The Dream Team took all of their photos with a $60 camera bought at Best Buy! 😉

Leading Up To The Big Day
It was less than a week after I had added my profile to TheKnot that I was contacted by Kelly’s mother, Deborah to talk about Kelly’s wedding. I have had the wonderful pleasure of working with and getting to know both Kelly and Rob for a year prior to their wedding. Kelly was quiet at first, but soon caught me by surprise as she opened up and shared her amazing personality with me.
Over numerous emails, phone calls and face to face meetings we were able to collaborate on planning the out of the box wedding of their dreams! Everything for their dream wedding started and ended at the Inn at Stone Ridge, a beautiful rustic venue for an intimate wedding.
The Day Begins!
Their wedding took place on the last Sunday in April, the weather could not have been more perfect! It was a gorgeous
sunny day with not a cloud in sight. Our Dream Team arrived early to set up everything from the outdoor ceremony to the tented reception.
The ceremony site was simply beautiful. White chairs lined the aisle in an open field as mason jars filled with wildflowers hung from Shepard hooks lining the perimeter of the chairs. At the end of the aisle was the Arbor that my assistants and I decorated by braiding raffia and entwining beautiful wildflowers. It was the perfect setting for Kelly and Rob to tie the knot! As the ceremony was approaching, my assistant handed each guest a wish tag to sign, and a cone of dried lavender to toss at the newlyweds. The wish tags were secretly provided by Kelly’s thoughtful bridesmaid, Deste, giving Kelly and Rob a personalized memory from each one of their guests.
Kelly looked absolutely stunning as she glided down the aisle with her mother and father on each side. Her laid back personality was accentuated by her unique vintage wedding dress and the fun leather boots she wore for the night. The sounds of an acoustic guitar playing one of The Beatles’ lovely songs escorted Kelly and her parents down the aisle, as she made her way to her soon to be husband!
Astrid Joy Storm, Kelly and Rob’s Officiant, gave a wonderful ceremony that the guests both smiled and teared up from joy. Astrid performed a wonderful hand tying ceremony to further unite Kelly and Rob’s bond to one another.
After the ceremony, the guests mingled during cocktail hour as Kelly and Rob took pictures with family and their wedding party. Tamme Stitt Photography, accompanied by Alen Fetahigraciously captured all of their moment from start to finish.
Luminaries lined the pathway into the tent as guests entered for the reception
and were amazed at the transformation they saw. They found their table by
viewing the beautifully rustic seating chart that was displayed on an antique window pane. The magical illusion of the yellow and white paper lanterns hung sporadically by the Dream Team were accented by the perimeter lighting. Kelly
purchased flowers in bulk, which our dream team then assembled as centerpieces in mismatched antique vases on yellow table clothes, which were also accompanied by family heirlooms of handkerchiefs and table runners. The flowers continued as Kelly and her bridesmaids held beautiful bouquets wrapped in burlap made by Flowers by Maria.
Near the entry of the tent were the two tables, one of which held the guest’s gifts and also included a birdcage for cards. In addition to a home-made generational scrapbook made by Kelly’s adoring grandmother, Shirley. The second table was a place where guests could take candid Polaroid photos of themselves and place in the guest sign in book with a message next to their photo. Above the tables hung a clothesline in front of burlap fabric where their family pictures hung.
Let The Party Begin!
The night started off with a wonderful surprise from Kelly’s Bridesmaid Deste! She sung ‘Mushaboom’ by Fiest for Kelly and Rob’s first dance, her voice was beautiful and it could not have been a more perfect surprise for a perfect first dance. I could tell it was a moment Kelly and Rob would treasure for a lifetime.
All the guests joined the couple on the dance floor and were entertained by the great sounds of Jimmy Lutz from Lutz Entertainment. Throughout the night, one guest bumped it up a notch by beating a bongo drum that hung from his neck and moving across the dance floor! The delicious aroma of the buffet started to fill the air as the four memorable toasts were coming to an end. After everyone had eaten, there was another surprise for the bride and groom! The ring barriers Oliver and Everett had baked their very own Easy Bake Oven cake for the newlyweds! (Boy, what a cake it was!) They carried it to the dessert table so Kelly and Rob could cut their first piece of cake and indulge together! Jimmy Lutz kept the party going with great tunes, mixing the music together perfectly for a fun-filled night of dancing!
This wedding could not have turned out sweeter. Everything was perfect from the gorgeous weather all the way down to the homemade cake from the boys. The Dream Team at Cinderella4aday can not thank all the professionals involved enough for helping make this day extra special! We wish the newlyweds Kelly and Rob Tofte all the best and thank them for the great memories that we will always have!
Are you the type of bride who prefers that everything is on hand & you don’t have to worry about a thing? For most couples having a venue that is all inclusive eliminates the stress of worrying about everything from choosing a caterer to additional fees incurred for rentals. One of the biggest concerns is the weather; and if that is one of your big worries then the traditional all-inclusive venue might be a perfect fit for you. BUT, if you have always envisioned your wedding to be more “out of the box” then an outdoor/tented wedding could be more your style. Either one is great! Traditional Venues, usually held in catering halls are what is typically known as your “cookie cutter” weddings, while tented weddings sometimes fall into the category of “out of the box”. There are positives and negatives to both, you just have to decide which one works for you more!
There are many locations that are deemed under the category of traditional venues. Start thinking: Catering Halls, Hotels, Churches, etc. Many of these places are gorgeous and will be able to direct you through your wedding day minute by minute. There is usually a specific order in which events take placeand within a limited time frame. The evening will usually start out with Cocktail Hour, where the guests start to mingle after the ceremony. The newlyweds then meet up with the crowd to greet their guests and enjoy appetizers before the main reception begins! Next comes the newlyweds’ first dance where guests get too “ooh and ahh” at the beautiful couple. A toast follows with the rest of the night including dancing, dinner and then cake cutting. After the cake is cut, the night starts to wind down. There is a little more dancing, with the bride tossing the bouquet & then the fun for the groom kicks in with the removal of the garter! Soon the couples last dance arrives and then the guests bid farewell.
If you are the type of bride who likes to stray away from guidelines and wants more of a personal touch, tented weddings are great! Some brides may not know what a “tented wedding” is and think that it is less formal or bland, but it’s not! There are so many beautiful tents that you can rent, with gorgeous décor including lights, lanterns and almost anything you could imagine! The price of renting the space is usually cheaper than renting out a traditional venue, but you have to pay the additional fees for a caterer & different types of rentals ranging from tables to chairs, linens & more. The events of the evening can either follow a similar regimen as above or you can go completely out of the ordinary & switch things up to however you like! You have much more leeway to change up the program to how you want. Another benefit of having a tented wedding is you can decorate your space however you like! This gives you much more of a creative base to work with. You can endlessly daydream thinking of how you want to transform the space to be as unique as you are as a couple!
There are benefits to both different wedding styles. As the bride, you just have to choose the perfect match for you! Either way, you can still have that fairy tale wedding you’ve always dreamed of!
