Beautiful Me!

How ”Beautiful” Me Came To Life:

The Beautiful Me Flier

Having a sixteen-year-old son really opened my eyes to the difficulties kids face in today’s world.  A world that is filled with the many challenges of bullying, taunting and tough experiences that kids are sometimes forced to face alone. A special someone inspired me to create an event to help girls gain the self worth and self-confidence that they should all have.  This was around the same time I came in contact with a wonderful person and an extremely talented photographer, by the name of Tamme Stitt.  Tamme was thrilled about this idea and shortly after had her own inspiration that really sparked our drive to create and coordinate this magical event known as “Beautiful Me”.

Claire Winslow of The Would Restaurant

Our wheels started turning and the Dream Team at Cinderella4aday got started on creating this fabulous event! We knew we wanted to create a fun filled day for the girls that would not only boost their self-esteem but also educate them on food and living a healthy lifestyle.  Using social media as a platform, we wanted to reach as many people as possible to spread the word on how they can nominate that special girl in their lives they felt would benefit from this great event.  We got an abundance of emails from girls who nominated themselves or were nominated by someone who loved them.  Collaborating with some of the Hudson Valley’s top-notch professionals, the “Beautiful Me” event was off to a fabulous start.  Vivian of Vivian’s Photography graciously opened up her doors to her beautiful studio, “Space”.  This is where all the special moments of this day would soon be created.

The nine beautiful young girls sat upstairs in Vivian’s gorgeously decorated photography studio, while stunning pink corsages were passed out provided by “Lucille’s floral”.  The event kicked off with Claire Winslow from The Would Restaurant giving insightful information on healthy eating and well-being.  Claire also provided a delicious healthy buffet of:  vegetable quesadillas, chicken and avocado sandwiches and quinoa, which everyone indulged in and thought it was absolutely delicious! In addition to this meal JJ’s Rockin Cupcakes provided mini bites of heaven for dessert!  After everyone was content with their healthy meals, Lindsey VanEtten from Arbone gave a very informative talk on skin care.  It really opened my eyes to some of the harmful ingredients listed in your everyday products that I really treasure! Both the girls and I learned so much from this talk that nearly destroyed my world of

In the midst of all of this, Christine Spiezio, “The Queen of Relaxation” massaged the stress right out of these young girls backs.  Soon after, the girls were escorted to the next room to transform themselves for their personalized photo shoot of their lifetime! The room was filled with gorgeous dresses and stunning handcrafted jewelry created by Nicole Pagano from Creekside Adornings.  The girls were able to choose from earrings, necklaces and bracelets that were beyond gorgeous!  The jewelry gave the girl’s appearance that extra pop it needed.  Mary Jane and the ladies of Beautiful Images Hair Salon had anything and everything you could think of to make each and every one of the girls look even more amazing than they did before.  Everything from feathers to glitter was strategically used to decorate the girl’s hair and makeup.  Mary Jane and the ladies have such a knack for what they do, we truly love their work!

After getting all dolled up, Tamme Stitt of Tamme Stitt Photography and Vivian Lanzarone of Vivian Photography took each of the girls for a fabulous photo shoot! Just by watching you could see the sparkle in their girls eyes as the camera clicked away. Tamme and Vivian did such an amazing job at capturing the beauty and personalities of each one of these girls while Samantha June of Full Circle Music Productions took video throughout the day to ensure not a single moment would be missed!  As a by stander it was incredible to see the girls faces light up and hear their delightful laughter. There were so many fun props incorporated such as feather boas and sparkling facemasks. A true photo shoot was happening right before our eyes!

After all of these great activities the day was completed with dazzling swag bags! The bags included so many fantastic goodies! Nicole of Creekside Adornings gave each girl a gorgeous handmade necklace, Mandy Quinn- the owner of Handcrafted Goat Milk Soap from Pumpkin Patch Farms provided all the girls with funky and fun scents! Cheer Jamz Elite & Center for Creative Education both gave a gift certificate for a fun filled day packed with physical fun activities that the girls can look forward to! Sensibles gave a fun and creative way to keep your feminine products hidden while Lisa of Sweet Lisa’s Gourmet Popcorn gave a yummy treat of gourmet caramel popcorn with chocolate drizzle! Sinfully Sweet gave them just the right amount of sugar rush they needed to complete their day by providing individual bags of cotton candy! Linda Harrington, owner of The Book Bin provided awesome books, which will give the girls insight to some of the issues they are having as a tean and Be Your Own You; a company dedicated to inspiring young girls provided their magazine that has great material the girls can always look back to and read! Everyone was so generous, this really made the end the girls journey even more awesome!!

Our first ever “Beautiful Me” event was such a great success! It was so heartwarming to see these young girls open up towards us and be so excited for their day of pampering.  We are UBER excited on how everything turned out,  & we are looking forward to creating many more of these fantastic events!!  This was such an incredible experience not only for the girls, but for all of us as well.  It was truly worth all the effort that we all put in to just see the smiles on these beautiful girl’s faces 🙂

Its a great feeling giving back and helping others grow and see their potential as beautiful young women. We were all there at one point in our lives, being young is a big job and can be very stressful-I think for young people to see talent and success in others, gives them inspiration and hope for their own bright and productive futures. Make healthy choices in everything you do, be respectful of first yourself and then all others, and your life will shine:):) It was a pleasure being a part of Beautiful Me and I hope all the girls keep in touch!!!! Vivian:)
