Do Brides Really know what a “Wedding Planner” Does?

April 22, 2010

I think most brides believe that a Wedding Planner is someone who plans a wedding from start to finish and that’s it-well this is not true at all.

Wedding Planners can be available from the very beginning starting from when the bride gets engaged or we can be hired as late as week before to handle everything for the day of your wedding, better known as the term  “DOC”-Day of Coordination. This service has become very popular amongst brides because it takes the stress off the couple, their family and close friends. They can actually be a guest at their own wedding, knowing that there is a professional there handling all the details of their special day, such as overseeing the vendors by making sure they keep to the time-line that we create, setting up the decor for the ceremony & reception sites, meeting & greeting guests, making sure the all your visions are carried out.

A great wedding planner will make sure every last detail is taken care of  & if there are any glitches-you will never even know.

I am my own wedding planner… but I’ve had a lot of fun. One area that took up a lot of my precious time, though, was the invitations and the wording/etiquette, etc… same with the response cards… but I trudged through it! Now on to the rehearsal dinner and day-after brunch invites… which will be much less formal occasions.

Yes, I know that invitations & response cards can take up a lot of time, but it seems like you have everything under control- Congratulations!

^ But in the future I would probably recommend a coordinator/planner to my friends, especially the ones that are very busy… fortunately, right now, my schedule allows for wedding planning.
